On a trip, Marie drove 200 miles in 5 hours using gasoline that cost her $1.49 per gallon.
Column A : Marie’s average speed for the trip in miles per hour
Column B : Marie’s gas mileage for the trip in miles per gallon
Answer
The total number of miles driven by Marie in 5 hours is 200.
The average speed is 200/5 = 40 miles/hour.
So, A = 40.
B can not be calculated because the total number of gallons consumed by the car for the trip is not given.
So, it is not possible to compare A and B.
Therefore D is the answer.
